Angie and Ben are currently working on a series of Couture Bridal Portraits entitled "I was late to the wedding because..." and the 2 images above are part of this series. It's a concept they came up with late one night and it's grown into a series of 12 shoots which they are still releasing every Saturday for the next few weeks.

Whilst my 'blogger' blog has been kind to me over the past couple of years - I have finally taken the plunge to design a new blog. I was really concerned about how long it was going to take me but it has worked out waaay better than I could have planned.

It really is great! The images are so much LARGER!! And it has a lovely minimal design! Oh, and I even re-designed the logo and I'm lovin it. Oh and most importantly... you will now be able to comment effortlessly :)

Wedding: Tim and Rachael

After a week or more of rain Ben and I were preparing ourselves for a very wet wedding. We scouted out new and interesting wet weather locations and then the strangest thing happened... the sun came out and the weather turned out to be amazing :)

I had the pleasure of driving to the ceremony in the bridal car with Rachael and her father John. It was so sweet listening to John talking to Rachael and keeping those wedding day jitters at bay. Ben followed behind the guys in their Bentley and I love his shot of them driving in front.

After the ceremony we found a fabulous new location which was perfect and so close to the church. There were lots of shady spots under big trees to shade from the sun because, by this time it was pretty hot - it actually got to 38 degrees.

We left plenty of time for our photographs at Tebutts Observatory. We love Tebbutts! This was where Ben and I got married. It was such a pleasure to revisit this amazing location and catch up with all the staff. I've said it before but I would highly recommend Tebbutts for weddings. It's got such a relaxed country feel and the scenery is perfect.

I LOVE BRIDAL SHOOTS!!! ♥ ♥ ♥

It's a bit of a luxury to photograph a bride and groom away from the wedding day but if you can arrange it, it ROCKS!!!!. There are no wedding day stresses and we're not rushed for time. We can also get a bit CRAZY to make it a little different from the actual wedding day - we can go to amazing locations and includes fun props - like balloons.

We LOVE making it interesting and have plenty of suggestions and we can even style the "Bridal Shoot" for you.

I had a particular vision in mind and had planned a fantastic beach and cliff session at Clovelly. It was going to be about balloons and sunshine and big blue sky - unfortunately as soon as I started clicking away it began to rain. While I was sitting in the car, waiting for the storm to pass (and trying to think of wet weather locations) I thought of the Art Gallery of NSW - I have always wanted to photograph there - it would be the perfect opportunity and a location that would be a little drier. Then the magic began to happen :)

I have included a few of my favourite images from the day. A special thanks to Tahlia and Justyn for being flexible and adventurous :) You both looked amazing!!!

Greg and Jen: Pre Wedding Shoot

We love North Narrabeen!!! Such a fabulous location!!!

I remember visiting North Narrabeen when I was younger. We used to go to the beach but my dad was also a keen windsurfer (and ok, I admit it... I have done a bit of windsurfing in my time too) and the Narrabeen Lakes was one of his favourite locations to windsurf - so Narrabeen is a location that special to me and reminds me of summer.

Ok, back to Greg and Jen - after all, that's why we were there :)

We met up with Greg and Jen early Sunday morning (ok - it was 10am but that's pretty early for a Sunday) for a beach engagement session at North Narrabeen Beach. The beach pool is amazing and I have to admit... I was drooling slightly at the thought of the photographs we will get of Jen in her wedding dress walking down the jetty beside the pool.

Not to mention Greg's vintage car - this is an amazing car and apparently it is quite rare. If you're loving it this gorgeous car - Greg does hire it out for weddings - just get in contact with me and I can pass on your details. Their wedding is in March and I'm sure we'll have some great photographs of them in this great car.

Terry and Melissa: Pre Wedding Shoot

Terry and Melissa are getting married in the Hunter Valley in April and we caught up a couple of weeks ago to photograph their pre wedding shoot at Nurragingy.

It was a hot, hot day so we tried to keep it cool, starting at the blacksmiths hut and then headed over the waterfall and the lake. We spent an hour or so walking through the gardens and stopping at any locations that took our fancy.

Terry and Melissa brought their little girl, Alaiya along and she stole the show (sorry guys.) Alaiya is certainly not shy plus she takes dancing lessons so she didn't need too much convincing to show us her rendition of Beyonce's 'Single Ladies' - which was soooooooo cute.

We loved spending the afternoon with you and can't wait for the Hunter Valley.

Mark and Danielle: Pre Wedding Shoot

Mark and Danielle are getting married in May and we caught up last weekend at Little Bay for their pre wedding shoot.

I have to say I love this area and it's becoming a favourite location of mine to photograph. I love the textured rock and I love the little beach and I love the rock pool and I love the long grass. YES! I guess I just love it all. The area is also special to Mark and Danielle so it was a perfect choice for their photos.

Mark and Danielle were so relaxed in front of the camera and even though it was sprinkling throughout the whole shoot they weren't bothered by the rain.

Mark and Danielle, I love these images... I hope you love them too and I can't wait for the wedding.

Wedding: Kel and Marissa

(Alternative title: We Love Greek Weddings)

I am so happy to be able to share a wedding with you again.

This was our first wedding of 2010 - which also happened to fall on the wettest day in February for 12 years.

Kel and Marissa's wedding was also our first Greek wedding. I have to say Ben and I were blown away by the beauty of the ceremony. The whole ceremony was sung in Greek and it was so so so pretty - I ran over to Ben after the ceremony and told him that if we ever got married again that it will have to be a ceremony just like this one. This church (St Spyridon's in Kingsford) is amazing - I wish we had more time to photograph the amazing detail that was all around but I guess we have to save something for the next wedding there.

After the ceremony we had planned to take photographs on Bondi Beach but it really was pouring and we decided it was best if we stayed dry. We were able to take some photos outdoors under the Bondi Pavillion but then we headed inside to Nicks Restaurant for some indoor shots.

It was a fabulous day and Kel and Marissa's families were so lovely. It was truly a fabulous celebration.

Handmade and gorgeous! LOVE!! So perfect and unique.

Oh... guess I should tell you who I am talking about?!

New Years Blogging Resolutions

Jasmine Star Workshop

Last week I had the pleasure to attend the Jasmine Star workshop.

Jasmine is an amazing wedding photographer from the U.S and it was so great to hear her talk about the weddings she photographs. What a FABULOUS way to start 2010.

Jasmine has such an energy about her and I came out of the day feeling very inspired. Jasmine's husband, JD came along - he second shoots on all of Jasmine's weddings - it's similar to how Ben and I work together on our weddings and it was great to get his perspective on things.

Both Jasmine and JD are such lovely people - I feel so grateful to have shared this with them. Thanks to Jasmine and JD for spending time on their holiday to share the love.

Workshop: Jasmine Star

What an amazing and inspirational day I have had.

Today I spent the day by Sydney Harbour learning from one of America's leading wedding photographers - Jasmine Star!!!!

This is just a sneak peak from the workshop. There will be way more images to come and I will be able to tell you all about the fabulous vendors that contributed.

During our time off over christmas Ben and I have been taking some photographs of each other.

As photographers we very rarely get to be on the other side of the camera and it was great to be a model for an afternoon :) and yes, I am a bit of a poser!!

Below are some images we took in a local field and down by the Nepean River.

Matthew and Jessica: Pre Wedding Shoot

Matthew and Jessica are getting married in February 2010 in Penrith so we decided it would be nice to photograph their pre wedding shoot somewhere a little different. Matthew's a bit of sharks fan, so it was his idea to head to Cronulla Beach.

We had a lot of fun, explored the rockpools, took a walk on the beach and chilled out on the grass. Thanks Matt and Jess - can't wait for the wedding!!

Wedding: Tony and Belinda

I loved this wedding!!

Tony and Belinda are such lovely people and we were truly made to feel part of the family. The love they feel for each other is so obvious and it's just a joy to go through the images we captured on this day.

The ceremony was held in St Stephens church in Penrith. This is the first wedding that we have photographed in this church but being a local girl it's not the first time I have been here... I was a flower girl at my aunts wedding many years ago :)

This was one of the really hot November days - the temperature got to 40 degrees but everyone did so well in the heat - especially the guys in their suits.

After the ceremony we travelled for photographs along side the Nepean River. We were hoping there would be a cool breeze coming off the water but no luck there. There was lots of shade though, so we could avoid the sun and stay cooler.

We then headed to the reception which was held at The Login Cabin Inn, Penrith. At sunset we snuck the bride and groom out for some photographs out by the gazebo and as luck would have it we also managed to capture the Nepean Belle riverboat in the background.

It was a fantastic wedding and Ben and I were so happy to be a part of it.

Bridal Shoot: Alana

Anyone who has see my portraits may recognise Alana - I’ve taken photos of her, her husband and their daughter. It was at one of these sessions that we spoke about doing a bridal shoot with her and her husband since it’s been a while (5 years) since they tied the knot.
So we started planning… booked the date, sorted the location, planned the theme – then we found out that on the day we had booked her husband wasn’t available but I was able to convince Alana she could ‘rock it’ on her own… and she did!!

This shoot took place in Hyde Park, in the centre of Sydney. It was so hot this day that people were swimming in the fountains and even though the temps were in the 40’s we got some amazing images.

I LOVE Ashleigh!! She looks so amazing in these photographs - isn't she gorgeous??

I LOVE this venue. This amazing location is Tebbutts Observatory in Windsor, NSW. It's so romantic and sooo country - it's the perfect wedding venue. A great location if you are looking at getting married in the Hawkesbury area.

(I may be a little biased as this is where Ben and I got married) :)

Wedding: Ryan and Alana

I loved this Kurrajong wedding!! It was a little rainy but it added a touch of romance to the day.

The ceremony was held in St Gregory's in Kurrajong. It's a gorgeous pale yellow church overlooking the hills - very picturesque.

After the ceremony (and while the rain held out) we captured some photographs overlooking the valley - there was some great veil action going on here.

The reception was held at Loxley's on Bellbird Hill - another great location!!! Such a romantic venue (I think it would be so fabulous for a winter wedding) with the rain and the chilly air and the smell of smoke from the fire - it was just perfect!!

My favourite part of the night though was the speeches... after everyone had completed their speeches, as part of her speech Alana sang "You Raise Me Up" to Ryan. Her dear friend Jye accompanied on the piano and then the MC Mark broke out on his violin - it was such a great performance and it gave me goosebumps.

I LOVE that I can experience these moments and be part of this important event for a couple.

So thanks to Ryan and Alana for choosing us to take part, it truly was an amazing day and congratulations to you both.

Wedding : Patrick and Elizabeth, Mudgee Wedding September 2009

Patrick and Elizabeth we married on September 12th 2009 in Mudgee Uniting Church.
After the ceremony we spent almost 3 hours visiting some of the gorgeous areas within the Mudgee town centre and further out of town. Ben and I spent some time before the wedding finding the right dirt track with the mountains in the background as we new this was a shot that we had to capture.
The reception was held at the Mudgee Motor Inn. The reception room was a blank canvas and Liz worked her magic on it. She's a little crazy for butterflies - they were everywhere in this room.

This was a fabulous wedding - Pat and Liz are very much in love and it was a pleasure to share their day with them.

Bridal Shoot: Sean and Danyelle

We had so much fun with Sean and Danyelle out at Appin House.

This is the first time I have been to Appin House and I loved it. So many photographic opportunities in such a small area.

Sean and Danyelle were married a couple of years ago but wanted to take some time and get some images that they were really happy with and the feedback so far is that they love these.

I have added a selection of my favourite images - enjoy!!!

Bridal Shoot: Jules and Jason

LOVE LOVE LOVE Jules and Jason and LOVE LOVE LOVE Yester Grange!!

This was the 2nd last day of winter and it was HOT - well actually it was rather cool but Jules and Jason were on fire.

It rained a little but that allowed for great use of the umbrella ;) and the wind really picked up - especially when we headed to the lookout - we nearly lost Jules' jacket and we did lose Jase's hat :(

Jules gave a lot of moody looks and Jase gave great eye contact.

I love all of these images we captured and I've picked out a few (ok, at least 15!!) of my favs.

If anyone has watched the show 'Who's Wedding is it anyway' then the name Jung Lee should be familiar to you. I remember after every show I attempted to find Jung's website or her business Fete.

Something for Sunday

I've decided that I should post a bit more about my interests and the great little finds that I come across.

So all week as I wander through life I will put little goodies to the side that someone who is planning a wedding would find useful - more than likely it will be something that is gorgeous to look at.

Today's find is these lovely Tony Bianco shoes that I keep seeing in one of the local shoe stores in my area. They are called 'Extremely' and this particular colour is 'Pink Fish'

Wedding: Matthew and Stefanie

From the start Matthew and Stefanie's wedding was gorgeous - the weather was perfect, the flowers were original, the dress was stunning, the loving glances from Matt to Stef during the ceremony were so adoring, the reception (especially the speeches) was so emotional and the dancing was entertaining.

We really treasured being a part of this wedding and we had a fabulous time.

Congratulations to Matt and Stef and all the best for the future - I am sure it will be a long and happy one :)

We have just returned from our holiday on the Gold Coast (more on that later) but first I had to share these images from Matthew and Melinda's pre wedding shoot. We do one of these shoots with every couple whose wedding we are photographing - it's a great way to get to know you better and for you to get to know us.

Melinda and Matthew are photographers themselves - we are so happy they chose us to photograph their wedding and they were happy to give us total creative control. We spent an hour or so at North Burleigh Beach - a great suggestion by the way guys! We loved the rocky headland and the view up the beach with the city of Surfers Paradise in the distance - just perfect!!

It was well worth getting up early in the morning for the gorgeous morning light and for us Sydney siders it was quite pleasant. We even saw whales off in the distance , such a great sight and the first time that I've actually seen them. Of course they were a fair way out at sea and you could just make out the spout of water each whale shot up and the occaisional tail.

Our new name

This should have been my first post but I was too keen to put some gorgeous images as things were looking too bare.

Angelica Peady Photography is the new name for the wedding department of Lightscape Photography.
As we specialise in photographing weddings we decided that it was time to develop a unique name and we based this on my name - who else could have a name like this?

Lightscape Photography will still exist but will concentrate mainly on Ben's amazing landscapes. For now the Lightscape website will still contain the existing galleries and will always contain links to get between Lightscape Photography and Angelica Peady Photography.

Wedding: Amanda and Joad

Amanda and Joad got married almost a year ago but I have chosen this wedding to be my first post on the new blog. Soon we'll be wishing these two a happy 1st anniversary!!

This was the first time that Ben and I had been to Orange and we love this little town. There are so many historic buildings - rather romantic really. I'd definitely love to come back and visit this place - maybe take in a wine tour.
